# MosoFin read-only month-end review prompt pack

Use these prompts with the client or entity workspace you are authorized to review. Replace every bracketed field before running a prompt.

MosoFin currently provides permission-scoped, read-only access to authorized QuickBooks data in Claude. These prompts do not post entries, reconcile accounts, approve accounting treatment, or replace the professional responsible for the review.

## 1. Establish the review scope

```text
Help me prepare a read-only month-end financial review for [client or entity] for [reporting period] using [cash or accrual] accounting.
Review only the connected QuickBooks workspace and records I am authorized to use. Before analyzing results:
1. Restate the client or entity, reporting period, accounting basis, comparison period, and source coverage.
2. Identify any missing, inconsistent, or out-of-period information.
3. Separate source-backed facts from assumptions and questions requiring confirmation.
4. Do not change, create, approve, or reconcile any record.
The intended audience is [owner / bookkeeper / controller / advisory team], and the decision or question is: [question].
```

## 2. Validate the core reports

```text
Using the confirmed scope for [client or entity] and [reporting period], review the following read-only QuickBooks reports where available:
- Profit and Loss for the stated and comparison periods
- Balance Sheet as of the reporting date
- Cash movement or cash-flow view for the stated date range
- Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable aging using compatible dates and accounting basis
For each report, state the exact period or as-of date, source coverage, material inconsistencies, and unresolved reconciliation questions. Do not infer that a difference is resolved when the source records do not establish that.
```

## 3. Investigate material changes

```text
Compare [reporting period] with [comparison period] for [client or entity]. Focus on revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, net income, cash timing, overdue receivables, upcoming payables, and concentration risks.
For every material movement:
- quantify the change when the source supports it;
- trace the explanation to the relevant report or record group;
- distinguish an observed driver from an assumption;
- list missing evidence or client questions;
- avoid recommending an accounting treatment unless the responsible professional provides and approves it.
Use [amount or percentage] as the working materiality threshold, but flag exceptions that may matter despite falling below that threshold.
```

## 4. Prepare a reviewer-ready explanation

```text
Turn the reviewed findings for [client or entity] and [reporting period] into a concise reviewer draft.
Structure the draft as:
1. Scope and source coverage
2. What changed
3. Source-backed drivers
4. Cash and working-capital items
5. Missing information and assumptions
6. Follow-up action, owner, and due date
7. Items requiring professional accounting judgment or approval
Do not present this as a finalized client communication. Label it as a draft for the responsible reviewer and retain links or references to the supporting source records.
```

## 5. Apply one method across separate clients

```text
Help me apply this approved month-end review method separately across the authorized client workspaces I select: [workspace list].
Keep every client scope, source record, finding, threshold, and output separate. Do not combine client data into one conclusion or formal consolidation. For each workspace:
- confirm the client, period, basis, and source coverage;
- run the same review sequence;
- record client-specific exceptions and missing information;
- return a separate reviewer draft and follow-up list.
After the separate reviews, provide only a process-level summary: which review steps are complete, blocked, or awaiting professional approval. Do not aggregate confidential client financial values unless I explicitly authorize a defined comparison and the product supports that scope.
```

## Reviewer sign-off questions

- Is the client or entity workspace correct?
- Do all reports use compatible dates and accounting basis?
- Can each material statement be traced to a report or source record?
- Are assumptions and missing information clearly labeled?
- Are accounting judgments assigned to the responsible professional?
- Does every material follow-up have an owner and due date?
- Is the final evidence retained in the approved client system of record?
