Review uncategorized transactions across QuickBooks workspaces.
Find posted exceptions, trace each source record, and prepare one question list without changing the books.
This example uses connected QuickBooks data. MosoFin has setup guides for Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, and Muse; source access depends on your connection and permissions. The review does not edit the books.
Built for a broader financial-data workspace.
AI destinations: Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, and Muse.
Financial source catalog: QuickBooks, Xero, Stripe, Square, and WooCommerce. See Connections for setup guides and data references; a catalog entry does not guarantee availability in every plan or workspace.
Find what is still uncategorized.
Across clients, the work is the same: find each posted item, check its source, and ask for the missing context.
Separate books
Review only the client or entity workspaces you select.
Missing context
The amount alone is not enough. Check the date, payee, account, memo, entity, and source record.
Misleading totals
Keep results and subtotals separate by workspace and entity.
Run the review and save the method
Check each exception against its source before contacting the client or saving the workflow.
-
Select the workspaces
Choose only the client or entity workspaces covered by this review. Confirm the scope before reading data.
-
Confirm the connected QuickBooks entities
Check which company files are connected in each workspace. A workspace with several entities should keep each entity visible in the output.
-
Set the period and run the prompt
Enter the start and end dates. Ask for transactions posted to Uncategorized Income, Uncategorized Expense, or Uncategorized Asset.
-
Review the grouped exception list
Read results by workspace and entity, oldest first. Check the date, payee or description, account, amount, currency, category, and source record.
-
Validate gaps and prepare questions
Flag missing payees, document numbers, memos, attachments, or unclear accounting treatment. Trace each item to its source before sending a clean question list.
-
Save the method
Once reviewed, save it as a MosoFin skill. Set a new period and confirm workspace access on each run.
Use this prompt
Set the reporting period and select only the workspaces you are authorized to review before you run it.
Use MosoFin in read-only mode to review all selected authorized workspaces and their connected QuickBooks entities for [START DATE] through [END DATE].
Create one cross-workspace Uncategorized Transactions Review. Include transactions categorized as Uncategorized Income, Uncategorized Expense, or Uncategorized Asset.
For each item, show workspace, entity, date, payee or description, account, amount, currency, current category, and source record. Group by workspace and entity, sort oldest first, flag missing data, do not combine totals across workspaces, and do not change QuickBooks. When this workflow fits
- You review uncategorized ledger activity across more than one authorized QuickBooks workspace.
- You need each client and entity identified, with source records and missing-data flags.
- You want to save the read-only review method for the next close.
- Editing, approving, or recategorizing transactions automatically.
- Finding every bank-feed item that is still waiting in the For Review queue.
- Combining unrelated workspaces into consolidated financial statements.

Questions, answered directly.
Which QuickBooks transactions does this review include?
It checks transactions already posted to Uncategorized Income, Uncategorized Expense, or Uncategorized Asset for the date range and authorized workspaces you select.
Does it include transactions still waiting in the QuickBooks bank feed?
Not necessarily. An item still waiting in the For Review queue may not have reached the ledger or the three uncategorized accounts. Run a separate bank-feed review when you need to check those items.
Does MosoFin recategorize or change the transactions?
No. This workflow is read-only. It produces a review list for a human to investigate, document, and resolve in the appropriate accounting system.
Does the report combine totals across clients or workspaces?
No. Results and subtotals stay grouped by workspace and entity. The workflow is a selected-workspace review, not a consolidated financial statement.
What does saving the workflow as a MosoFin skill do?
It saves the reviewed method so you can rerun it with a new date range. The skill does not grant new data access or remove the need for human review.
Keep the data scoped. Make the review repeatable.
MosoFin is a read-only financial data workspace. You decide which authorized workspaces and connected sources are selected for each review.
