The operating problem

A cash-flow report tells you where to look—not always why.

A balance moved. That is the starting point. The useful next step is setting the period and scope, asking what changed, and reviewing the records before you decide what to do next.

The period is unclear

Cash questions need an explicit start and end date, and often a comparison period, before the result can be interpreted responsibly.

The movement needs follow-up

A change in cash may be related to operating activity, invoices, bills, financing, or timing. The review should lead back to permitted source data.

The review needs boundaries

Cash review is analysis, not a payment instruction. A reliable workflow makes the scope, records, and human decision point clear.

A source-conscious workflow

A source-conscious cash-flow review workflow.

Use the conversation to structure the review, not to skip it. Start with the period and question, then validate the result against the available source records.

  1. Select the authorized workspace

Choose the workspace containing the QuickBooks entity or entities relevant to this cash-flow question.

  2. Name the period and comparison

Ask for a defined reporting range and, where useful, a comparison to an earlier period. State what decision or concern you are investigating.

  3. Review the cash movement in Claude

Bea retrieves permitted QuickBooks data read-only. Ask a follow-up to clarify a movement or inspect the records behind it.

  4. Validate before acting

Check the result, period, and supporting records before you use the analysis in an operational, accounting, or financing decision.
